The Saint-Germain-en-Laye university library is specialized in education and political sciences.


Opening hours :

  • 30th August : the library will be opened for the morning, it will be closed at 1 P.M
  • 4th September : the library will be closed for the morning and will open at 1 P.M
  • 5th September : the library will be opened for the morning, it will be closed at  1 P.M
  • 6th September : the library will be closed for the morning and will open at 1 P.M
  • 10th September : the library will be closed all day long.
  • 11th September : the library will be closed for the morning and it will open at 1 P.M
  • 13th September : the library will be closed all day long.
  • 17th September : the library will be closed all day long.
  • 20th September : the library will be closed all day long.
 
Information on Learning Center works

Due to works for the construction of a Learning Center, the Saint-Germain-en-Laye Library has moved to D building,

on the ground floor, entrance through D-05.

Partial access to the collections, spaces and services of the library is provided on the premises.
Part of our collections is relocated to the Cerclades Library in Cergy.
It remains accessible via the book reservation service.


Collections

The collections offer around 30,000 documents in all media, distributed throughout the Saint-Germain-en-Laye Library and some of them are temporarily placed in the Cerclades Library.
 

Collections in education sciences

The library offers collections for the preparation of the competitive exams for school teachers (CRPE) and also documents on class teaching (textbooks, children's literature, briefcases or multimedia) from kindergarten to cycle 3.
Among the education sciences collection, you will find books on environmental education (adapted pedagogy, social sciences, cognitive sciences) as well as on special educational needs.
Finally, the education heritage collection comes  from former teacher training colleges.

Collections in political sciences

The Library also holds collections in political science, sociology, economics, law,history and geography.
In addition, the university library offers access to electronic editions and databases of national and international journals.

  • On foot from Saint-Germain-en-Laye station (RER A).
  • Bus R4 from Saint-Germain-en-Laye station (RER A), get off at  grande ceinture stop.
  • Bus 127 from Cergy Préfecture station to Saint Germain en Laye, then take bus R4 until grande ceinture stop.

IEP "Books for Spare Time" Corner

At the Saint-Germain-en-Laye's Library, you can find  comic books about law, economy, history, and sociology. You can borrow them for your spare time, and also to learn French in another way.
You can also find many DVDs and French novels, bilingual novels and books to revise DELF and Dalf exams.
