Since 2023, CY Cergy Paris University has been involved and committed to the national movement in favour of open science.
Open Sciencedefined as "the unhindered dissemination of scientific research results, methods and products. The digital transformation we have been experiencing in recent years is enabling the development of open access to publications and, as far as possible, to data, source codes and research methods".
CY Cergy Paris Université has been involved in the Open Science movement since 2023, to follow UNESCO's recommendations, which, for its part, adopts an even broader definition, since it includes not only research results, but also research tools and methods.
Open science is based on two principles : open access to publications (open access) and the opening up of research data (open data applied to research data)
The objectives of open science are both :
Scientists : facilitate the circulation of knowledge and diversify collaborations between scientific communities.
Financial : counter the stranglehold of certain large scientific publishing groups on access to knowledge.
Societal and ethical : increase the transparency of research, promote the dissemination of scientific results, and also increase trust in science.
